Northern Telecommunications Consultants, Inc. offers complete marine and remote location engineering services ranging from; port and harbor communications design, sub-marine copper and fiber optics cabling, to remote coastal and mountain top remote RF design.


Up to date electronics provide extremely accurate underwater mapping and positioning data.


NTC is experienced in undersea cable landings. NTC has participated in tidelands, terrestrial and landing station design, coordination and permitting.

NTC has also acted as a subcontractor to provide construction and installation of earth ground electrode grids, cable pulling and placement, FOC splicing, PFE splicing, FOC OTDR and IR testing and coordination between the landing station, jointers and the ship.

NTC also has on staff a registered professional mountain guide for access to mountaintop or difficult sites when a helicopter is impractical or cost prohibitive. NTC can access these remote locations and provide complete site, route selection and engineering design.

NTC is experienced with the required construction regulations and the application procedures for permits or letters of non-objection in remote and coastal areas. NTC can prepare permits for the Department of Fish and Game, Alaska Coastal Management programs, Corps of Engineers, State and Federal Parks, Monuments and Forests as well as local governments, native corporations and land management groups.



NTC also offers complete marine landing and terrestrial engineering and construction services ranging from permitting, design, logistics, cable joining, OTDR and fiber optic fusion splicing, earth electrode installations and other tasks.

NTC’s 18.28 X 6.1 meter research vessel is available for marine Bathymetric survey data collection, sub-marine cable project support and general oceanographic research. This vessel offers a complete range of sub-marine cable project services included but not limited to feasibility studies, preliminary route surveys, desktop studies, marine near shore Bathymetric surveys, sea floor core samples and as-built surveys. The vessel is designed for extended remote sailings and is capable of worldwide operations.

Upon completion of marine projects NTC can provide regular maintenance and inspection of near shore cables, beach manholes. splice joints, terrestrial aerial and underground routes, communication huts and electronic systems. NTC also has warehouse and yard storage for spare cable and supplies.
